In this unit we look into the four types of past tense, the past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. It follows the structure we saw in the other tense lesson in looking at form, usage, typical errors, and ideas for teaching. It was good to revise the types of past tense and check my understanding, it also helped me begin to see the patterns in the tenses and feel more confident in my ability to teach them.This unit discussed teaching the receptive skills of reading and listening. I understand that both are important and really appreciate that it was mentioned that listening is difficult because once the words have been spoken, you can't go back and review them like you can in reading. I have found that the listening portion is very difficult for new learners and like how this lesson teaches us to focus on both reading and listening skills.
