This unit covered the importance of listening and reading when it comes to how teachers can utilize these skills to help their students learn a language. Receptive skills are important to the learning as good listening skills help students retain what they have learned and reading plays a great role in critical thinking along with being able to read in another language will help in future careers and experiences. The unit was brief, but the information that was presented was detailed about what teachers can do to utilize these receptive skills, such as choosing topics that will garner interest of all their students.
