This unit helped me understand the importance of helping students develop their reading and listening skills. While reading skills can be easily achieved since they can read a text several times, and guess the meaning of words they don't know, listening skills are harder to develop, because the students might not know the words or might not be familiar with certain pronunciation, and as such might not understand the content. It is also important to choose topics which would be interesting for everyone. Since the teacher does not initially know the interests of all students, it is important to provide different topics every time.
