This unit was about teaching receptive skills. The unit compared receptive skills to productive skills. It also listed a hypothetic lesson plan so that I could clearly see the information from the unit laid out in an actual plan. I learned to pre-teach anything that might be hard for the students or might be unknown at the point of class, but that I don't need to clear everything up. I could emphasize the major things. Also, I learned the importance of the knowledge that they know beforehand and bring to the class, that influences the way they will take in the new material. Lastly, it drilled the importance of interest in the classroom and topic.
