For me, speaking seems natural but I can see how it would be difficult for students to express the thoughts in words if they do not have a strong grasp of the language. I can see how many students would prefer writing over speaking. It's easier to catch a word if its spoken incorrectly. A lot of people would have fear of saying the wrong word. Writing and reading is a lot easier because you can wee the words visually. My son learns a lot faster from looking at the words than if I were to tell him the word. I think this lesson was helpful in showing how to build a ESA lesson when you need to combine writing, speaking, reading and listening skills to students.
