Unit Thirteen was about pronunciation and phonology. Learning about how I should teach stress and intonation for words was confusing to me because it's not really something I think about or ever learned about in a class. Where I place the stress or use intonation is just something that naturally happens while I speak. It was useful to learn that there are patterns and general rules for such things. I have never learned about the different sounds in speech so I found that part interesting. It was more complex than I realized and it makes me appreciate how much speech therapists need to know in order to help students who can't produce specific sounds when they're growing up.
