This unit contains explanations on the usages and structures of several past tenses: Past simple, Past perfect, Past continuous, Past perfect continuous. As well as some examples of common mistakes made when using these tenses (with irregular verbs for example), and various teaching ideas for the activate stage that can be used to practice them. I have learned about the rules that apply when using what tense and how to form the tenses gramatically in positive, negative and question form. I have also come up with some ideas/games for students to practice by playing memory games with verbs in different tenses or setting up a role-play interview with different topics and narratives.
