Unit 10 introduces the different methods for evaluating the learning of learning English, such as tutorials, questionnaires and tests. It enumerates the types of tests used, namely diagnostic, placement, progress, practice and external exams. Subsequently it expands upon the aims, time and frequency of each type of test. After demonstrating an example of a placement test, it provides an extensive list of available external exams including the country where they are organised and what type of students they are targeted at. I feel I have learnt from this unit a good deal about evaluation and tests and, in particular, a plethora of external exams that I shall be able to advise my students about.
