This unit is an introduction to the tenses; Past, Present and Future. We begin with the Present tense which like the others, has 4 specific forms. These are Present Simple, Present Continuous (Present Progressive), Present Perfect and Present Perfect Continuous. We have looked at the sentence construction within each tense area considering positive, negative and question forms. Common student errors or mistakes are shown in example form and activate stage teaching ideas are outlined for each tense. It is clear that all present tenses have their own types of circumstance where they should be used but it is important to first look at the sentence structure when looking for or creating an specific example.
