Teaching new language, consisting of teaching vocabulary, introducing grammatical structures and teaching language functions, focuses on four aims: be exposed to it, understand its meaning and how it's constructed and be able to practice and produce it. This unit is related or even similar to Unit 3, which gives a separate teaching plan for each part. I review what I have learned so far about ESL teaching and further my knowledge of ESA thoroughly through this unit.This unit focused on the two productive skills that English language students need to focus on in the classroom: speaking and writing. I thought it was interesting how the unit disclosed that writing is often the least practiced of the four skills. After I considered the ways in which the student's native language might differ from English, like a different alphabet or rules of punctuation, I realize why this particular skill might be the hardest to teach students.
