The last unit goes over the different types of tests and exams that exist in the world of learning the English language. It discusses basic types of tests that would be used in a class and then it talks about more extensive types of tests used for varying reasons. Although tests are probably not the most interesting or fun part about learning a language, they have their place and would be very helpful in tracking a students progress with acquisition of the language.Writing and speaking may both be used to communicate thoughts and ideas, they are substantively different both in the accuracy required to get ideas across and also in students' preference to use and practice them. Because writing is a quiet and mostly individual activity it can seem like the teacher \"isn't doing anything\" when he assigns writing prompt. However, writing is a productive skill of equal importance to speaking if a TEFL student is to be well rounded.
