This unit covers the definitions and finer points of teaching pronunciation and phonology in the English language. I have learned that effective English teachers include the following pronunciation and phonology techniques as a necessary part of their course: intonation, word and syllable stress, the phonemic alphabet/phonemic symbols, and articulation. I have also learned how and when to teach the most effective techniques for the pronunciation of individual sounds.i have learnt that its important for teachers to establish rapport with students and set the tone for the rest of the course.Teachers should be able to plan future lessons to cater to the students interest,and also there is the need for teachers to allow students make use of questionnaires to be able to know about each other.Teachers,should also monitor the activities of students closely in other to know a lot about students level of ability in the English language.
