This Unit revolved around the different ways an instructor can evaluate their students. At the beginning of the course, an instructor can give a placement test to see where their students are with English, and ask what their motivation for being in the class is. The teacher can then coordinate their lesson with their students goals. The instructor can also give out progress tests as they continue their course so they can make sure their students understand the lesson.Unit 12 focuses on things that we have all done naturally with our first language. I enjoyed thinking about what we did when we were learning our first language. It's true that at a young age we start by simply listening and then moving on to speaking. Reading and writing come later in life but are no less important. Approaching a second language will be different for many reasons but I think it's important to acknowledge where most of us start and move on from there.
