This was a challenging unit that outlined modals, phrasal verbs and the passive voice. It covered the basic rules for modal auxiliary verbs such as 'may', and their uses in language such as 'a polite request' this information will help us to teach the deeper meaning behind phrases an statements.The unit also taught the difference between the active and passive voice, and how a sentence can be changed from one to another. Finally, the united looked at clauses and phrasal verbs. It provided structure and examples of multi-word verbs such as transitive or transitive separable. Upon reflection this may also be a challenging unit for ESL learners and would need to be taught slowly, thoroughly and in context.
