This unit was so hard to me. I've learned about teaching pronunciation and Phonology. This unit deals with Stress, intonation and International Phonetic Alphabet. Intonation is defined as the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence. Stress is more related with individual words. Some methods of teaching such as Nonsense words, By gesture, Humming or singing and the Board can be used to help students understand the intonation.
Also,Contrastive stress, By gesture, Choral work, the Board and stree marks are great ways to teach stress for students.
Alticulation is one of the big portion of this unit. Especially, I think place of articulation is very useful for students to correct their pronounciation properly.
