This unit covered the important aspects that need to be kept in mind when teaching different parts of new language, such as vocabulary, language structures, and functions of that language. This unit broke down each of these three sections of language teaching and provided different methods of applying variations of the ESA method, such as straight arrow, boomerang, and patchwork methods. This unit was helpful because it provided the tools necessary to determine which of these methods would be most effective for my students' proficiency level in the English language that they are learning. It also helps me balance my lesson planning with regards to how much emphasis I need to put on vocabulary and grammar structures respectively.
