I found this unit to be quite interesting. I completed foreign language classes while in college, and I recognized many of the same methodologies and teaching tools used by previous professors. Just as the unit suggests, my professors didn't rely on a single teaching method like ESA or Classical, but rather changed the teaching method based on the difficulty of that day's lesson. Similarly, the activities we the students did in the classroom changed as we advanced in L2 material. Based on my own previous experience, and the information in this lesson, I still agree that speech practice, positive criticism and correction, and peer/self review are much more effective learning tools than traditional translation at all L2 knowledge levels.
