In todays unit we learned about the approporiate usage of equipment and other teaching aids. Typically teachers are restricted with those and use what is available in the classroom or what the teachers / students have with them (e.g. photos, cell phones, laptops).
Cassettes / CDs / DVDs / audio-files / video files and the like are great to teach listening comprehension and can be used with both authentic and created materials.
Video cameras are a good option for self-evaluation of the students.
I really apprecicate the online resources because one has never enough good ones. Some of them I know already and use a lot.
All in all, I think teachers should mix resources and equipment to make lessons more unpredictable, lively and enjoyable.
