This unit covered a lot of the little bits and pieces that are necessary for rounded out this course. This includes how to deal with new classes, building rapport, encouraging students (who are either unmotivated, scared, or bored), how to deal with students using their native languages in class, and situations in which students have trouble understanding listening texts. These all stress that problems with these issues almost never stem from maliciousness, but rather fear or fault on the part of the teacher. For instance, a teacher is responsible to encourage a tired student to work hard on Monday morning by making the lesson engaging, not simply telling them to work hard. This applies to building rapport with students and encouraging new ones as well.
