In this unit, the functions and usage of modal verbs are introduced, which gave a clearer picture to ESL teachers when preparing lessons. I am also keen on the teaching ideas in the packet, ?rules? and ?signs? are most commonly seen, and I think the two ideas would be a good fit in class to help students have situations while learning modal verbs. Besides, passive voice is also introduced in this unit, telling us when and how to use passive voice based on the tense. Relative clauses are shown as well, which is usually used in academic writing. Last but not least, I have learnt how to teach phrasal verbs based on the usage. Grammar seems kind of difficult to teachers and students, but I believe both can nail it if we keep learning and practising.
