Overall, the content of this unit featured the use of coursebook, materials and teaching aids. The uses of coursebooks was listed along with its advantages and disadvantages. Materials such as visual aids, worksheets, video and resource book to name a few were listed. Each use of materials listed was explained.
I learnt that as a future teacher of the English language, materials are divided into two groups (authentic and created) while both serve their purposes through its use and advantages contributing to an effective lesson. Also I learnt about several factors I should always take in consideration when choosing a course book for my classes. Along with the different options I can use for course books such as omitting, replacing, supplementing and/or adapting.
