In this unit I learned about what a lesson plan is, why a lesson plan is useful, and how to create a lesson plan. A lesson plan is useful for someone who has little teaching experience, like myself, because it can give the teacher an idea of how the lesson will work a head of time. Also, a lesson plan should be flexible because there are many unforeseen circumstances that will make it necessary to change the lesson. It might be that the students struggle with one part and need more time or it could be that the students really enjoy one activity and the teacher chooses to let the students have more time. Lesson plans are important because they guide the instructor on what the goal of the lesson is but they should be malleable in order to give flexibility to the class.
