In this section, I learned about pronunciation and phonology. I learned a lot of difficult vocabulary about how words are pronounced, what parts of the mouth they use, and what kind of motions the mouth uses to produce them. I learned the IPA, and how it can help me teach my students how to pronounce any word in English if they learn it. I also learned about intonation and stress, and how it can impact the meaning of the sentence. Stress on various parts of the sentence can totally change the implied meanings of the sentence. I learned that I can take the entire lesson to teach this to my students, simply do slots of the lesson for it, or only do spot checks as needed. But that overall, 100% perfect pronunciation is not the goal, and intelligibility is the main focus.
