In Unit 4 the various aspects of the Present tense is introduced, namely the Present Simple; Present Continuous; Present Perfect, and Present Prefect Continuous.
As I had learned my English implicitly as a native speaker, I was not aware of some of these aspects to be present tense, and Unit 4 brought these to my attention.
For example, Simple and Continuous were obviously present tense to me, as they were about things or actions happening in the present, or at the time of speaking. However I never considered the Perfect and Perfect Continuous to be present tense due to their structure (using the auxiliary verb HAVE + past participle or HAVE BEEN + verbING) made them look like past tense, when in fact they relate the past to the present and thus are indeed present tense.
