Going into a classroom, it is important to be prepared. Some students may have worked together before, and others may be meeting each-other for the first time. Before beginning language drilling, it is good to warm the class up to each-other. A good activity to create rapport is to have students pass a ball and ask the student the ball is passed to a question. In a large class, more will get done by doing group work and pairing than by spending a lot of one on one time with students. Some students may be reluctant to participate. Rather than forcing the reluctant students to participate, it is better to try to put them in pairs and to use role playing activities, because it may be easier for reluctant students to act as somebody else rather than themselves in the classroom.
