This unit covered the types of problems that are commonly found in the classroom. During first lessons, teachers should avoid using the textbook, in order to establish rapport and learn information about the students. Warmers are short, fun communication games that get students motivated about using and learning English. Teachers will often have classes at different English level abilities and large classes. They should employ a variety of teaching techniques that help control the class, as well as addressing individual needs. When dealing with reluctant students, teachers should take into consideration why the student is not inclined to learn English, and then utilize activities that allow the student to use and create English in a safe space, such as pair work and role play.
