This unit focused on pronunciation and the importance of teaching it to your students so that they will learn how to speak clearly, as well as show proper emotion and feelings. This unit looked at intonation, the rise-fall patterns of sentences. It also looked at stress of a single word, which syllable would receive stress when speaking. It also looked at the phonemic alphabet and how it can be used to help students learn the proper pronunciation of a word. Lastly, it looked at articulation, how words and sounds are made in the mouth. This depends on how the air moves through the mouth as well the placement of the vocal organs in certain sounds. This unit really helped me to know how to teach pronunciation to the students. How to demonstrate and explain placement of the tongue during certain sounds.
