Unit 9 was a very interesting unit which discussed Lesson Planning. This portion of the programs begs the questions : Why make lesson plans? What are they good for? and What must they contain? There are many good reasons to formulate a lesson plan, especially for inexperienced teachers it helps to keep the teacher on track and maintain a clear perspective on learning objectives and how to achieve them. These plans are good for keeping each class balanced and goal oriented to hopefully impart the most knowledge possible to the learners. A lesson plan should contain many things but what I find most important are: Language Points, Learner Objectives, Potential Problems for student and teacher and how to solve them, and the procedure. I think it is also a great idea to put a date on each plan for a good record.
