In this unit I learned about modals, passive voise, relative clauses and phrasal verbs. Modal verbs are: can, could, must, may, might, have to, should, will, would, ought to, need to, beable to. They all have different uses and levels of obligation, probability and necessity. Passive voice is used to emphasis the subject not the agent of the sentence, the common structure of passive voice is to be + past participle, it varies according to the tense that is used. Relative clause is dependent clause that is used to give extra information about noun. There are 2 types of relative clause: defining relative clause, non-defining relative clause. Phrasal verbs are multi-word verbs that consist of a verb and preposition/adverb. There are 3 types of phrasal verbs: intransitive, transitive separable, transitive-inseparable.
