1. Overview Unit 1
Unit 1 is an introductory unit aiming to give an overview of the company, the course and the working possibilities. A brief overview of each unit is given with some information on the structure of the course. Aims and objectives are briefly discussed and general terminology in the world of teaching English is given.
Teaching General Business English as well as teaching of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) are explained. Some typical outlines of what to expect when teaching Business English are discussed: teaching private clients (one to one), teaching in a language center or language school and teaching at a company (\"in house\").
2. What I learnt
The given terminology is mostly new to me. Add CELTA, DELTA. IELTS, TOEFL, etc and the list seems endless. A new world of terminology is opening for me!
