Unit 15 covers evaluation and testing. Different ways of evaluating students? level and their progress were discussed, as well as external tests students might take as a requirement or to further develop their language skills. Students? level can be assessed by tutorial, students? evaluation and tests. There are different types of test students might take; each has its own purpose to achieve. Some of the common proficiency tests were briefly discussed, too.
Evaluation is very useful for correct placement of students as it will determine what their current level is and identify their needs or problem areas. Evaluating a student is very important because this will determine if he is making progress in his learning or not. I?ve also learnt what the role of each type of test is that will greatly help with the student?s learning of English.
