Most regular schools or language schools apply formal tests to verify the students' level of English even if the teacher agress with it or not. Therefore, the teacher must be careful on how to effectivaly \"test\" their students in a way that he/she is certain it is not only based on memory. In my opinion, the teacher can use worksheets without saying it is a test so students complete it and do the exercises without the pressure of knowing it is a test, so they will do it based on what they actually leanrt. The teacher can grade it or not, but he/she will certainly see what should be reviewd and keep track on what the students are effectively learning or not. Also, it is always important to keep the classroom talking in English and the teacher must observe the class level of fluency and mistakes made in a way to check accuracy, so it can also be used as a \"test\".
