This unit discusses how to introduce new vocabulary, grammar and language functions to students. It explores how to pick appropriate vocabulary words to introduce in class and how to teach those words using the ESA method. When new grammatical structures are introduced, what to teach is mostly determined by the level of the class. It is also determined by the course syllabus being used. When teaching language functions, activation of the language is very important.This unit was about teaching the productive skills of speaking and writing. There was focus on creating free/ creative speaking lessons that would encourage the language learner to participate in the lesson and ideas on how to make it more comfortable to do so for the student. The unit also drew attention to the importance of games in the classroom to promote enthusiasm for the lesson topic and cultivate a more willing attitude to engage fully in the learning process.
