In this unit, I learned much more about modal auxiliary verbs and the fact that there are several acceptable ways to say one thing. For instance, as a request, although it is technically correct to say \"May I go to the toilet?\", it is also correct (and more polite) to say \"Could I go to the toilet?\" I used to always reject that as grammatically incorrect. I wish that this unit had explained phrasal verbs more. I still found them confusing by the end of the unit.More good examples of what types of activities are appropriate at the stages of ESA engage, study, activate particular to vocabulary or grammar instruction. It is important to understand how new vocabulary should be introduced as well as how new grammar and structures should be introduced.
