Watching these two videos was good to see examples of good and bad teaching methods. Having students write down examples of what he was wanting them to say was better because they were not put on the spot. He used the engage phase much better in the second video when he asked for students names. It made the students feel a more personal connection to the teacher which made him less intimidating. Using the ESA method in a better way in the second video showed much better results.This unit not only fortified my knowledge of the future tenses in English, but it also helped remind me of the subtleties of the present tense, as some present tense questions were asked throughout the test. I found the video presentation on the unit helpful in deciding what is most vital in the unit, but also found the written unit pages helpful when it came to certain specifics. I now feel comfortable setting up a planned classroom activity for each of the different future tenses.
