This lesson discusses the advantages and perils of different forms of classroom materials, with what seems like a consensus that published classroom books are the least advantageous form due to student cost, possibly being out of date and inflexible. A lazy and/or inexperienced teacher may rely on this method at cost to the students learning. One area that was not discussed was the possibility of having the students help create the classroom materials as part of the teaching process.This unit focused on the productive skills of speaking and writing. The unit pointed out some important differences between activities for accuracy and fluency. Both are equally important, but both also have differing goals attached. While fluency is the ultimate aim it is important that the students don't make grammatical errors that lead them, and others to think they are not educated. So with the use of activities and games, hopefully we can help the students speak and write well.
