This is the first lesson that has completely lost me. The first part of the lesson I was able to follow generally well but one we started getting into technicalities for the second part of the lesson related to the parts of the mouth, making specific phonemes and naming conventions for all of these things - I was lost. I understand these things are background knowledge for teaching pronunciation in language but I feel that many of things border more on necessary information for someone who is a speech pathologist. While we can and should use many techniques to get students pronouncing words correctly, techniques like watching the teacher's mouth or saying tongue twisters, I feel like the more advanced material would only come to play for those that continue to struggle beyond this. And for those students, a speech pathologist might be the better solution anyway.
