The unit introduced a number of interesting grammar points, modal verbs, phrasal verbs and the use of the passive voice. As a native speaker of English it is easy to forget these small little details of how and when to use certain words especially with the modal verbs but the differences are there and when you use the wrong one in a situation it will change the meaning of the sentence. It comes naturally when you are a native speaker but in order to teach non-native speakers of a language these points you have to really think about how you use your language yourself. The unit was helpful at pointing out where common mistakes can happen and making suggestions on how the teach the language points. The interesting thing with the phrasal verbs was the suggestion not to teach them as a 'phrasal verb' class or grammar session but as vocabulary due to their complex nature.
