In this unit, I have learned important information with regard to troubleshooting. There are certain problem situations that a teacher should know how to handle. In the first lesson, for example, it is important for a teacher to establish a rapport with the students, to find out about them, and to ascertain their language level. The use of ?warmers? is important at the start of class, in order to get students motivated. When faced with teaching students of different levels, a teacher should respond by using different materials in order to accommodate them, or by using the same material with different tasks. Other potential problem areas include: large classes; students? use of their native language; reluctant students; and difficulties with listening texts. Teachers should have appropriate strategies ready in order to deal with these different situations.
