This unit is about how to set up your classroom to best suit your teaching style. I like that this unit goes very well with unit 3 Theories, Methods and Techniques. In my classroom, I often find myself using various teaching methods and desk layouts throughout a semester. If the learners in my class are low level I often have them sit in a horseshoe arrangement while I lecture the learners using the lexical approach and tasked based method. This way I can make eye contact with all the learners as well as see how they are answering the questions. When I have more advanced learners I tend to use the silent way method in the separate tables classroom layout. This makes it possible for the students to not rely on me as a crutch while being able to use English skills to interact with others to accomplish their assignments and task. Overall, I found this unit to be very helpful.
