The videos used in this unit demonstrated an effective and an ineffective lesson. In the first lesson, the teacher made several mistakes,for example; His attitude was not very engaging, he used vocabulary students did not understand, and kept repeating it, instead of finding an alternative way of explaining it, he did not attempt to engage the students, the lesson was mostly just teacher presentation, will very little student participation. He did not explain or demonstrate. All these, and several more, made for a boring class, where students were bored, intimidated and confused. It was not effective at all. The next lesson was more inclusive of the students. It engaged the students with the language. The teacher also elicited vocabulary from the students, which would be used at a later point in the lesson. The transition between the engage, study and activate sections were seamless.
