Two videos show the same teacher with the same students teaching them the same lesson but in a different manner. The first video shows the teacher teaching in a very ineffective way. He doesn't build a good rapport with the students, or come prepared for class. He doesn't talk directly to the students instead he is shown talking with his back to them. He doesn't explain the lesson very well and when the students seem confused he doesn't try to teach the lesson in a different way. He seems frustrated with their lack of participation. In the second video the teacher uses the students names, he smiles and talks to them not away from them. He also has visuals and mimes to help the students better understand the lesson. He gets all the students to participate.
It is much more rewarding to teach a class that is engaged and willing to participate. A smile and the right attitude can go a long way in engaging students.
