The productive skills or speaking and writing skills are equally important. The teacher should incorporate them all to have a balanced impact on students. Writing is a more difficult skill, requiring a greater degree of accuracy, misunderstanding can't be cleared up 'on the spot'. Speaking requires a greater degree of fluency as the speaker will rarely have much time to think and plan an answer. Teaching speaking can be divided into two types of activities: accuracy activities (used during Study phase) and fluency activities (used during Activate phase). The teacher should always encourage the students to speak and be aware of students' lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, peer intimidation, lack of interest in the topic, previous learning experience, and cultural reasons. Differences in writing skills are grammar use, correct vocabulary use, right spelling, accurate handwriting, layout, and punctuation.
