I can see the value of planning a lesson. It should provide a platform for teaching the lesson. The plan would contain activities to make sure the lesson objective is addressed but would also allow flexibility. It would include the language point of the lesson such as vocabulary or grammar. It would include the objective for the students - what the students should be able to do at the end of the lesson. In the plan consideration of the language level of the students and the size of the class help determine the types of activities, the types of materials and teaching aids, and the balance of TTT and STT. After the lesson is completed the plan could be used to note evaluations for the next time the lesson is taught.
Planning a sequence of lessons has some similarities to planning a lesson. There are goals and objectives. A sequence of plans also needs to be flexible to accomplish adequate learning by the students.
