This unit provided a thorough deep dive into equipment and teaching aids in the classroom. The unit covered traditional materials, such as resource books and overhead projectors, as well as more modern tools such as DVDs and computers. There are a wide variety of teaching aids available to teachers, and each one has its advantages and disadvantages. The unit clearly reviews which aids are appropriate for which situations, activities, and/or learning objectives for students. It seems like using a balance of these aids and more traditional teaching strategies would keep students interested and motivated throughout a lesson. There are a lot of helpful and specific tips and guidelines to using each of these pieces of equipment in the classroom, that if followed, will allow for a smooth transition from one activity to the next. It is important to be prepared for any glitches in equipment, as well as to understand how to use it prior to the start of class.
