I've learnt a range of different teaching methods and theories but the most vital part is knowing which one to use in different circumstances, that can depend on myself and which one I'm able to project effectively but also the culture and needs of the students. ESA will be incredibly useful as a new teacher as it allows for flexibility and most importantly will insure a response from the students. Different Elicitation techniques will be useful depending on the learning stage of the students, it's important to keep the students involved without them becoming bored so I should be ready to adapt the tasks if they are too easy. Using the simple 'Boomerang' sequence of ENGAGE-ACTIVATE 1-STUDY-ACTIVATE 2 will allow a reduction in teacher talk time and a larger amount of student discovery whilst being able to use tutoring to help each small group. After the first activate session the etcher can provide advice and help to the students before the next activate.
