Unit 13 was all about how to properly teach pronunciation and phonology. Being a native English speaker these are two things I don't ever really think about when speaking, but after reading through the unit and seeing all of the examples it was pretty eye opening to see all of the little intricacies of the language. Learning how to outline things like intonation and which words to stress was a great takeaway from this unit and the examples will be an invaluable asset for teaching these subjects in the future. I've never really been exposed to the phonemic alphabet or the phonemic symbols before, so that part of the unit took a while to work through, but after doing so it's a great way so see how different letters sound when alone or when combined with other letters. Overall, this is one of my favorite units so far and after realizing how much the things covered in this unit are an integral part of the English language, I can place much more value on these aspects that I had previously overlooked.
