In Unit 10 two videos of ESA demonstration lessons were introduced. The videos are to be watched sequence in order to make comparisons between them.
In the first video (Lesson 1) the teacher taught poorly, for example his expression and actions intimidated the students; seemed impatient towards the students and annoyed to be teaching the class; did not support or aid the students to help their understanding; the instructions were unclear; he sat down and also read while the students were doing worksheets, and he did not bond with the students. These were amongst many other problems the teacher displayed and created a lot of confusion and tension for the students, and so Lesson 1 was a very ineffective class.
The second video (Lesson 2) was very different to Lesson 1, and the teacher behaved well, supported the students and bonded with them. The problems displayed in Lesson 1 were not seen in Lesson 2, and the lesson was well-structured and clear, which lead to a high student participation, resulting in an effective class.
