I found this unit very useful. It presented in detail how a Business English course design is supposed to be developed and which areas should be paid attention to. The first meeting with the clients is crucial. This is when the assessment test should be taken to be aware of what the students already know. It should be followed by a needs analysis test in order to get to know what the students need to know. The results of these tests will influence and define the syllabus of the course and based on these groupings can be arranged as well. During the course some regular form of testing or assessment is very important since it will allow the teacher to measure the efficiency of the program and allow the students to monitor their success. It also gives information for the teacher whether any modifications or improvements would be necessary to the course. On completion of any course it is advisable to do some form of evaluation. It will evaluate the material used and will also give opportunity for the students to give feedback on the program as well as on the teacher.
