The Unit is about the structure, usage and teaching ideas for Present Tense. The 4 types of present tense are:
1. Present Simple: states habits, facts, routine,most commonly used present tense. Structure- Sub+verb(base form {s/es})+rest of sentence. Negative form- Sub+do not/does not+verb(base form). Question- Do/Does+sub+verb(base form)
2. Present Continuous : action happening at the time of speaking. Structure- Sub+auxillary verb+verb+ing Negative form- Sub+auxillary verb\"be\"+not+verb+ing Question- Auxillary verb \"be\"+sub+verb+ing
3.Present Perfect :combines past and present. Structure : Sub+have/has+verb(past participle) Negative: Sub+have'nt/has'nt+verb(past participle) Question- Have/Has+sub+verb(past participle)
4. Present Perfect Continuous: past action continuing Structure: Sub+have been/has been+verb+ing Negative: Sub+have'nt/has'nt+been+verb+ing Question- Have/has+sub+been+verb+ing
points to be noted- if a sentence does not contain \"have\", it will not be a present perfect
if a sentence does not contain present participle, it will not be present continuous.
